The Ins & Outs of Work

Two hosts. Two perspectives. One conversation.

Created and produced during my time at Talentsoft/Cegid, The Ins & Outs of Work explored HR, leadership and the changing world of work through conversations with industry experts and practitioners. Co-hosted with HR specialist Neelie Verlinden, the show brought two different perspectives to the same workplace challenges.

Hosted by Neelie Verlinden (HR insider) and Joe Sweeney (outsider asking questions from an employee's perspective).

The challenge

Talentsoft wanted to strengthen its position as a thought leader in HR, build relationships with industry experts and reach the people shaping the future of work.

The challenge was creating something that stood apart from conventional corporate content — a show with its own personality that HR professionals would genuinely want to follow.

It also needed to become an ongoing source of original content for Talentsoft's wider marketing activities.

The creative idea

The HR insider meets the HR outsider.

Neelie Verlinden brought years of HR expertise. I brought a different perspective: someone who didn't work in HR but experienced its decisions every day as an employee.

That meant asking the questions an HR professional might take for granted, challenging assumptions and exploring what workplace policies and practices actually mean for the people affected by them.

The contrast created a more accessible and engaging conversation, combining specialist knowledge with genuine curiosity.

The work

What we made.

I developed the original concept, name and editorial strategy, and co-hosted the show alongside Neelie Verlinden.

I also managed the entire production process, from guest outreach and episode planning to recording, editing, publishing, content repurposing and distribution.

Over 50 episodes, the podcast became a regular source of original conversations and content for Talentsoft's marketing activities.

The impact

50+

episodes produced

Some episodes were among Talentsoft's best-performing YouTube videos.
